The Sydney Opera House Ladies Committee invites you to a wonderful lunch to celebrate Mother’s Day. Meredith O’Reilly and John Martin will help us celebrate with wonderful songs.

Meredit O’Reilly

Meredith has been a professional entertainer for over 30 years. Most recently she was in Opera Australia’s productions of My Fair Lady and The Sound Of Music & was nominated for a Glug Award playing Sylvia St Croix in Ruthless! She played Grandma Addams in The Addams Family. She was nominated for  Helpmann & Green Room Awards for her role Hold Me-Touch Me in The  Producers. Other highlights include Love Never Dies, Starkers, Les  Miserables, Hello Dolly!, Chess, The Rocky Horror Show, Gypsy, and How To  Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.

John Martin

JOHN MARTIN went from his hometown of Mudgee, NSW, to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he majored in Performance as a pianist, also studying singing. He  was soon in constant demand with his  fellow students as an accompanist,  and in his second year he chose to specialize in this very exacting art. 

From being a young performer on the books of the Australian Broadcasting  Corporation and appearing frequently on Radio National, John then moved to  England to continue his studies as an accompanist, having received grants  from the Australia Council, Opera Foundation, and the Australia Opera  Auditions Committee. 

John has also made ragtime piano a specialty, and has given hundreds of  performances of the works of Gershwin, Joplin, Billy Mayerl, Zez Confrey,  and more. John Martin has become a prominent artist in the music life of Australia, and  is renowned for his ability to cross genres. In 2007 he toured for three months  for Andrew McKinnon Presentations with acclaimed English actress Miriam  Margolyes in her show “Dicken’s Women”. More recently.

ABOUT US: The Sydney Opera House Ladies Committee has a long, proud history of serving and fundraising for the Opera House since 1957. Funds currently raised will directly support the Sydney  Opera House Arts Assist and Access programs. These programs provide opportunities for disadvantaged students and those in our community  who live with a disability to experience performances,  talks, and programs at the Sydney Opera House,  something everyone in our community should be able to experience.
